Nitrogen Gas Die Springs

STEINEL self-contained nitrogen gas springs for bending, punching and other tools used in high pressure applications are some of the most dependable, durable and efficient ones found anywhere in the world.

Unlike ISO die springs that can fracture easily with use over time, STEINEL nitrogen gas cylinders absorb approximately five million strokes of lateral forces within small spaces without breaking. STEINEL designs and manufactures its products at its German facility. With all of its research and development processes in one location under one roof, STEINEL is better able to focus on quality, reliability, durability and safety.

What Makes STEINEL nitrogen gas springs superior?

Incredible Inventory

  • STEINEL offers a wide range of standard nitrogen gas spring products. It also produces custom products to fit the various production needs of clients across industries.
  • STEINEL keeps its on-site warehouse stocked at all times and maintains a highly flexible production schedule for emergency and custom orders.
  • STEINEL’s in-house capabilities mean that all of the processes, from design to manufacturing, are unbeatably fast as there is no interruption as seen with other companies that have to wait for designs or send designs out for production.

Innovative Designs

  • STEINEL gas cylinders have a closed construction that is easy to assemble, install and refill for use with any compatible heavy duty tool.
  • These nitrogen gas springs include lifetime lubrication to prevent dry running, and innovative sealing materials create an amazingly tight seal that prevents damage and malfunction from gas leaks and entry and contamination from external particles like dirt and dust.
  • Each cylinder features a two-point piston mounting that helps maintain the piston’s center position and reduces the leverage caused by lateral forces. Speeds can go as high as 2.5 m/s.
  • They are designed with amazing short mounting heights of 25-330 mm and diameters of 19-120 mm. Yet, they provide the same strength and stroke as similar competitor products with these compact dimensions.
  • STEINEL puts every design through rigorous testing so that its nitrogen gas springs can handle almost any heavy-duty application. As a result, spring forces can go up to 10,000 dekanewton to ton-force (daN).

All of these features make STEINEL nitrogen gas springs perfect for jobs that require extreme precision, efficiency and high forces. Maintenance, repair and replacement of these cylinders is also easy. With a STEINEL repair kit, a STEINEL-trained technician can quickly replace seals, burst screws, nitrogen and entire cylinders to get your bending, punching or other job back under way with little hassle.

Maximum Safety

  • Each type of STEINEL nitrogen gas spring is designed to meet the highest safety regulations and standards, including Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) regulations. STEINEL gas cylinders are also designed with Finite Element Method (FEM) calculations and the construction is approved by TÜV Rheinland.
  • The internal piston stopper meets these standards while also guaranteeing less wear.
  • Any 33 mm nitrogen gas cylinders can be outfitted with burst protection designed to prevent cylinder and tool damage and human injury during extreme pressure rise events. These cylinders release pressure through forced ventilation. Once the pressure release occurs, you do not usually have to replace the entire cylinder. Instead, you merely replace the damaged burst screw.

Lastly, STEINEL believes in ongoing development. You are guaranteed that STEINEL’s nitrogen gas spring offerings will evolve in durability, efficiency, safety and other areas as new technologies for every industry emerge in the market.
